It’s the 10th anniversary of The Streets’ Original Pirate Material this week and to mark the occasion, Archy Marshall (aka King Krule) has reworked one the LP’s many highlights, ‘Weak Become Heroes’. He keeps it pretty faithful for the first half, leaving Mike do his thing over a lazy version of the beat, but adds his own smoky voiced verse. FYI, Archy would have have been about 8 years old at the time of the album’s release, so the tune probably doesn’t remind him of his first E. Mike Skinner’s book, ‘The Story Of The Streets’ is also out this week, recounting his life before and during his time recording under the name. Read some highlights over at The Observer.
