Been pretty quiet this week on the *good* music front, but what there has been is great. New King Krule material, new M.I.A, EP from Druid Cloak – we got this. Let’s take a butchers:
King Krule visited Maida Vale studios t’other day for a session for Zane Lowe, and played previously unheard track La Lune, along with album track Krockadile and single Easy Easy.
Someone broke M.I.A’s heart but it’s all good cuz she channelled her sadness via new song UNBREAK my Mixtape, a mash of samples, creaky vocals and lyrical pokes.
One of our favourite burgeoning newcomers and general who-dat Druid Cloak has a new EP on the way, the Lord-Of-The-Rings-y Bastion Of The Sterling Thrones. You can hear a preview, including some banging remixes, right here.
Spector are back, with Dev Hynes-written new bit Decade Of Decay. The vid has a couple of wronguns in front of a waltzer-type ride, trying to patch things up. Bless.
There’s no betta Viennetta than CID RIM, and the Austrian-based producer and musician had a new track of his premiered on Eclair Fifi’s radio 1 show last week.
Sinjin Hawke has done a pretty in-your-face remix of booty house legend DJ Funk’s track Three Fine Hoes, adding horns where there were no horns previously.
Lastly, brand new signing to SOHN’s Aesop label Gent Mason revealed his debut track this week and it’s a belter. The appropriately titled Eden is a lush, paradisal little tune with some excellent vocals right in the midst.
