This Week On Abeano: Grimes, The xx, Katy B, Mosca, A$AP Rocky, CID RIM, T.Williams, Mala & more

It’s been the week of the video these past five days. First we had the Bosch-inspired cyber-desert-goth movements of Grimes’ Genesis, then The xx with their considerably more subdued video for Angels. A$AP Rocky made an appearance on Fallon, the show which seems to be the platform for emerging artists (though to say Rocky is emerging is like saying an overflowing pot is ‘simmering’). Anyway, here’s what went up on the blawg this week, dawgs:

Grimes released her long awaited video for Genesis. It has a lot of weird stuff going on, with swords and stuff and junk: http://www.abeano.com/grimes-genesis-2/14208

Vultures is the new tune by Brey, and has a peculiar blend of Middle Eastern influence and modern TNGHT-ish noise-bombast. It’s only part 1, as well: http://www.abeano.com/brey-vulture/14234

The xx gave us a video for their first single Angels this week. It was shot on the 33rd floor of a Japanese hotel room and features Romy pretty much solo performing the tune. It’s pretty as: http://www.abeano.com/the-xx-angels-video/14212

Katy B did a vocal on Mosca’s club-nuke Bax, and called it What You Came For. You’ll be hearing this in the dance a lot over the coming months: http://www.abeano.com/mosca-featuring-katy-b-what-you-came-for/14231

Jimmy Fallon invited A$AP Rocky on his show to perform Goldie. A$AP Mob’s collaborative album Lord$ Never Worry is out next week: http://www.abeano.com/aap-rocky-goldie-on-jimmy-fallon/14198

Also on that new tape is A$AP Ferg’s track Work, the video for which you can find here: http://www.abeano.com/aap-ferg-work/14180

Viennese waltzer Dorian Concept remixed CID RIM’s stand out album track Draw. It’s a big old noise, so turn it up: http://www.abeano.com/cid-rim-draw-dorian-concept-remix/14168

More music from Mala’s Cuba-inspired album was released, this one’s The Tunnel, more akin to his older material with Digital Mystikz: http://www.abeano.com/mala-the-tunnel/14156

T.Williams, who recently signed to PMR, bussed up a new tune on the Soundcloud. It’s very bright and airy, unlike everything that’s happening outside currently: http://www.abeano.com/t-williams-think-of-you/14184

And last but most certainly not least is Pearson Sound, who has a new EP coming up, with minimal grime track Underdog. This one’s pitch black: http://www.abeano.com/pearson-sound-underdog/14163
