The Horrors played a special ‘secret’ show at The Shacklewell Arms last night to launch their brilliant new album, Skying. The venue is a regular for the band – they recorded it next door, after all – but they probably haven’t ever seen it quite so packed with sweaty bodies. Photographers Sean Carpenter and Nickie Divine squashed to the front to hear them play tracks from Primary Colours as well as the new record and, as Faris told The Quietus, it was probably the last chance the band had to make mistakes before they take it on a proper tour this autumn. Moving Further Away is already sounding like one hell of a set closer. In other Horrors news, Skying – that you can listen to here – is currently at number 3 in the midweek album chart. Their next single is set to be I Can See Through You.
The Horrors next show is Field Day on August 6th. Buy tickets to that here. For more of Sean’s work (first 7 photos( visit disposable-youth.blogspot.com. Photos 8 onward copyright of Nickie Divine at www.nickiephoto.com
