John Maus – Maus Mix for Rough Trade

Posted on by Abeano Artist:

Since it came out late last month we’ve been hooked on John Maus’ wonderfully weird LP ‘We Must Become The Pitiless Censors of Ourselves’ and Rough Trade’s accompanying bonus Maus Mix CD. It gives a taste of what the former Ariel Pink man is inspired by, from Alan Silvestri’s Robot Romp (taken from Flight of the Navigator) to Renaissance sacred music experts the Tallis Scholars. After a bit of digging we’ve found this link on a John Maus forum so download it here and prepare to be educated. If you haven’t heard the album (out now via Upset The Rhythm in the UK) you can watch the video for The Country below.
