Whilst he didn’t quite go to the same extremes as Tom Vek, after the release of his underrated second album Everything Is New, Jack Penate seemed to just vanish. There was the occasional tweet about working on new songs but then nothing surfaced to back that up, at least until last night. Yep, Jack’s back and ‘No One Lied’ is not what we expected at all. Worlds away from the chirpy indie of Matinee, it’s raw – just Jack and his guitar – and poignantly beautiful. “Heaven is a place, no one lied,” Jack tells us, “The mystery remains until we die.” Watch the Dani Castro directed video below now.
