Following its premiere on Huw Stephens’ show in the UK, Girls have shared the first song from their forthcoming LP ‘Father, Son, Holy Ghost’ in a fan email. Titled ‘Vomit’, it’s a ballsy and emotional 6 minutes+ with tender revelations about spending nights alone and looking for love set alight by colossal guitar solos and a gospel sign off. To shed some more light on the song, in this week’s NME songwriter Chris Owens spoke about his love for Miley Cyrus, acknowledging spirituality and the song writing process of the album. “I think my songs come out of a more frustrated place” he told the writer, Alex Denney, adding that the tracks tend to be about the “ones that got away”. If you need some love in your life too, download the track here or listen below. Father, Son, Holy Ghost is out in the UK on September 12th. The band tour the UK in November.
