You’ll probably hear people talk about 18 year-old Jamie Isaac’s affiliation with fellow London-based, youngman vocalist King Krule, but if that’s the fare you’re expecting then prepare to be pleasantly surprised. Isaac’s woozily solemn vocal, like how your voice is after hours of crying, go hand-in-hand with the big, reverbed grand piano chords and rustling percussion. The video has him wandering around all sorts of terrains; buildings, trees, rivers – the lot:

Mala In Cuba was one of our favourite records of last year. A sweet blend of local Cuban music and Mala’s transcendental skill for basslines made for a surprisingly engaging LP. Noches Suenos was the calm, smooth final track on the record, with Danay Suarez on the vocals, and has been given a formidably bassy Caribbean redux by the two. This is a sundown roof party special:

AlunaGeorge recently announced their debut album, Body Music (and was accidentally called ‘Body Talks’ in the press release, which is funny cuz I could totally see it being called that as well), and on it will be this little mover and shaker. The video for You Know You Like It sees the duo in a big empty pool with a bunch of trendy types having a likkle dance:

They also got this fantastic remix of Todd Edwards and Surkin’s emotional mover I Want You Back by French genius Canblaster. It really is great, and comes into its own in the last third with some serious melodies:

Big-ass news today: Numbers’ top-boy Redinho has some new music out there, the first for a couple years now, and it’s giving us a ‘stauner’ as our Glaswegian friends would say. It’s called Stinger and it’s beautifully epic, spreading out with a heavily ’80s theme, big chords, film score drums – it’ll make you think you’re watching the T-1000 give you a thumbs up as he lowers himself into a pit of molten metal:
