Last month we shared ‘Unclassified‘, a compilation featuring a selection of Adult Swim’s favourite new electronic music. Now, one of the songs on the mix is set to get a separate official release. Dauwd’s ‘Ikopol’ – the one that begins with gulped breaths and builds to a melodic party call of ‘arms up, arms up’ – will be out soon on a limited 12″ thanks to London’s Pictures Music. Expect to hear it DJed the next time you’re out.
David Hilali has also made a new mix for fashion magazine i.D. In the interview he describes his style as “melodic with a percussive element” that “plays close attention to texture”, which pretty much sums up this collection of tracks. Listen below.
