Vampire Weekend in Paris posted by Imran on 12 November 2008
I went to Paris on Sunday to bid adieu to Vampire Weekend, who are now returning to New York to play a few more shows, then begin work on their second album.
The Paris show was held in the beautiful La Cigale venue. A year on from when they first visited here, supporting The Shins, the boys played a great version of the set they’d been playing throughout their european tour with one special addition.
Plastic Bertrand is a Belgian performer who released the biggest ever french-sung punk song in 1977 ‘Ça plane pour moi’
Here’s the original, as sung by Plastic Bertrand on Top Of The Pops, accompanied by Legs and Co.
And here’s Vampire Weekend’s version…
Next time: Fucked Up do ‘La Vie En Rose’….
