Well this is a hot tamale of a remix right here: Fresh from remixing Morrissey’s ‘When I Last Spoke To Carol’, Toy Selectah are the first to feature a remix on Vampire Weekend’s forthcoming single ‘Contra’. Keeping the preppy, frantic guitars and turning up the festival vibe, they steer ‘Cousins’ into cool, scratchy Tropicalia territory. Slapping down bold bass samples, and looping the “eh-eh” vocals to an unbridled beat, it embraces the fresh, jovial taste of the Mexican fiesta. And hey if you don’t like it… Me vale madre!
