The Further 50!

Posted by Imran on 06 August 2009

So yesterday, NME’s Future 50 issue landed. Highlighting the newest and most progressive artists, those “bands, producers, places and technology” pushing music fwd. Looking forward not back, not sneering but celebrating.

I liked the list but it definitely got me thinking, there were a lot of people who qualify under that criteria who didn’t make the NME’s half-ton. So I e-mailed a few friends and we came up with this list, the Further 50: 50 more people to be excited about right now. This list is intended to run alongside the NME’s list, NOT counter, or in opposition to it.

The only rules were these guys couldn’t have appeared in the NME’s list. Please add your suggestions in the comments.
