Hyperdub announced a new Burial EP not long ago, and today, without warning, it was dropped. We obviously haven’t had the chance to properly get to grips with it yet, but we’re becoming increasingly obsessed with second track Hiders. A total and complete deviation from Burial’s usual sound, it has tearfully slammed grand piano chords, pained, cracked vocal samples and a heavily ’80s-cheese apex. It’s like Flashdance barbiturate suicide music. It’d be worrying if it wasn’t so amazing.
